The perfect YouTube thumbnail size is 1280 x 720, with a minimum width of 640 pixels. It is a 16:9 ratio. Make sure your file doesn't exceed the maximum size of 2MG. (If it does, you'll have created the perfect thumbnail image that YouTube doesn't let you upload!
